Spotlight
Week
Spotlight week takes place once a
month. It is during this time that a student's
progression is assessed. In order to qualify a
student has to have attended a minimum of 8
classes per month. The children must have also
completed an 'Intent to Promote form'. This
unique form includes such items as completing
their homework and keeping their bedroom tidy and
must be completed by teachers and parents. This
week gives the students a fair chance of making
the required standards to move up to the next
grade.
An average student will take around
4 to 5 years to achieve the coveted Black Belt.
Attitude effort and consistency are key factors
that contribute to a person's progress. We are
aware that there are so-called martial arts
instructors that promise you a black belt in 2
years but if that's what you want then save
yourself the money and just go and buy one in a
local sports shop. But don't expect to have the
qualities of a genuine Black Belt.
To earn a Black Belt you will need
to work hard and persevere. To get there its not
going to be easy, but we will help you to
overcome the difficulties and encourage you to
reach your full potential.
